We call our solution MARTAS. MARTAS stands for Multi-Agent Resource Task Allocation System. Multi-Agent Resource Task Allocation System (MARTAS) is a sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) tool developed to streamline resource management and task allocation in various fields. MARTAS harnesses advanced AI techniques to devise the most cost-effective strategy for accomplishing a singular task or a series of tasks. The model incorporates key parameters such as time, cost, task complexity, and resources available, thereby optimizing the overall workflow and improving productivity and efficiency.
MARTAS automates and optimises the way in which agents are assigned to tasks or parts of tasks so that complex, low-level decisions, decisions that are often made incorrectly, and present high cognitive load, are no longer made by human operators. Given a high-level objective, MARTAS will automatically generate a plan, intelligently request specific information that will aid in allocating tasks to specific agents in the system, and adjust the plan should it be needed to cater for a more optimal execution. When an agent is selected to execute a task or part of a task, MARTAS automatically notifies that agent of its job at the correct point in time.
MARTAS uses a combination of knowledge representation and reasoning, high-level planning, both centralised and distributed for maximum effect, and epistemic reasoning to optimise how a plan is generate and how specific agents are selected for task execution. Our novel and advanced epistemic reasoning system allows MARTAS to intelligently select the information that it knows it needs to determine an optimal solution so that the system is not overwhelmed and a plan is found in a time efficient manner.
